One dead, four seriously injured as car crashes into barrier on Fields Hill

A man died and four other people were seriously injured when the driver of a Toyota Corolla crashed into a barrier along Fields Hill Road in Pinetown in Durban late on Saturday night, paramedics said.

It was believed the driver lost control of the car at about 10.30pm, ER24 spokesperson Annine Siddall said.

“ER24 paramedics found one of the passengers was flung out of the car. There was nothing paramedics could do to save the man’s life and he was declared dead on the scene.”

The driver and three other passengers were transported to RK Khan Hospital. Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations, Siddall said.
