Former Hawks boss Lieutenant General Mthandazo “Berning” Ntlemeza is “unbreakable” and “uncorruptible”, according to controversial East Rand prophet Paseka Motsoeneg‚ better known as Prophet Mboro.
Speaking at his Incredible Happenings Church in Katlehong‚ east of Johannesburg‚ Motsoeneg said no court would shake Ntlemeza, and he remained untouchable in his former role.
“I’m saying to you‚ my general‚ you are unbreakable‚ you are indisputable‚ you are uncorruptible‚ you are unmovable. Even if a court says it is over‚ God can resurrect you to a higher role‚” Motsoeneg said.
“You will reach your destination. It is not over. It is just beginning … God’s will is for the best. What you have done you will continue doing‚ changing people’s lives.”
Ntlemeza made his first public appearance as a guest at the church since Friday’s high court ruling that overturned his appointment as the head of the priority crime unit by Police Minister Nathi Nhleko in September 2015.
He thanked Motsoeneng for blessing him and encouraging him to keep on fighting crime in the country.
Civic groups the Helen Suzman Foundation and Freedom Under Law had challenged Ntlemeza’s appointment and wanted the Pretoria High Court to set aside his promotion to the top police post.
The court declared his appointment irrational and unlawful and referred the appointment back to a selection panel for a new candidate to be chosen.
On Sunday, Nhleko’s office said he would appeal the high court ruling on Monday. If successful, this is likely to result in Ntlemeza continuing in his job until the appeal is resolved.
