14 killed, 36 injured after bus overturns in Limpopo

Among the fatalities were at least four children and the passengers came from Zimbabwe.


Fourteen people were killed and several injured after a bus overturned on the N1 in Makhado near Ingwer Hotel on Monday afternoon, reports Polokwane Review.

In a statement released, ER24 spokesperson Ineke van Huyssteen said paramedics arrived at the scene to find the bus lying on its roof off the roadway.

Multiple services were found on the scene and patients were transported to hospitals for further medical care.

According to a report on Traffic Policing Affairs Limpopo, four children were among the fatalities.

“It is reported the all passengers came from Zimbabwe,” said Traffic Policing Affairs Limpopo.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not known, but police were on the scene for further investigations, Van Huyssteen concluded.
