Eskom ‘hope for no Sunday load shedding’

As of Sunday morning, Eskom has yet to implement load shedding, with the goal being to extend its 28 day load-shedding free spree.

“Our aspiration is not to implement load shedding at all, but the reality is that we operate a very constrained and vulnerable power system,” it said in a statement.

“We will continue to monitor the situation, and should it be necessary to implement load shedding, we will communicate this accordingly.”

Eskom repeated its appeal to customers to continue to reduce their electricity usage throughout the day but to be aware of the need to save more during the peak periods from 6am to 10am and 5pm to 9pm.
