Meet Mbalula’s match, South Sudan’s former minister of water and irrigation

Of all Cabinet ministers, Sports and Recreation Minister Fikile Mbalula is the most active on social media, especially on Twitter, where he expresses his thoughts on pretty much everything.

The minister also claps back on followers who think they can get away with saying what they want on his timeline. Mbalula is also known for his funky fashion – he could sometimes easily be confused with a hip-hop artist.

We have seen most on social media saying there was no other minister alive who dresses and behaves like the Razzmatazz, but they were wrong.

South Sudan’s former minister of water and irrigation Mabior Garang De Mabior’s swag is of the highest order, and Mbalula could also learn a thing or two from him.

The former minister and son of former president Dr John Garang De Mabior expresses his thoughts on Facebook and shares pictures of himself wearing whatever he feels like wearing.

Though Mbalula has taken it a bit further by praying in tongues on Twitter, the former minister always posts Bible scriptures on social media.

Last year, Garang De Mabior shared on Facebook that he was “advised” by Dr. Riek Machar Teny-dhuorgon to go home and change his bow tie, though media reports said he was kicked out of the meeting due to his “improper” dress code.

“After coming home and changing my bow tie at the advice of the First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny-dhuorgon … I returned to the Council of Ministers Meeting … only to be harassed and barred from entry by Salvador Kiir’s bodyguards … they should understand that this TGONU will not be business as usual … change is here,” he wrote on Facebook at the time.

Mbalula has not been kicked out of any meeting due to his dress code.

The former minister’s selfie game is also on point as his Facebook profile is filled with those, with one of him on the internet showing his middle finger.
