Man killed in Cosmo City shootout

A man believed to be a 30-year-old was killed in a shooting incident in the evening of 1 January in Cosmo City, Randburg Sun reports.

According to ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring, a man was killed while two others sustained critical wounds on Kenya Street. “Upon closer inspection, paramedics found one man lying on the pavement in a small pool of blood,” he said.

The man was immediately assessed and found to have sustained a gunshot wound to his chest and showed no signs of life. The man was declared dead on the scene.

“Shortly after attending to the deceased, paramedics were called to a further two patients who were found down the road,” he said.

Paramedics assessed the men, both in their 30s, and found that one man had sustained several gunshot wounds while the second man had sustained a wound to his shoulder.

They were treated on the scene, provided with advanced life support interventions and transported to Helen Joseph Hospital for urgent treatment.
