Man, 67, dies after steamy session with lover

Things took a turn for the worse when Sibiya did not wake up the following morning.

Cecelia Mkhatshwa of Kazibokwane, near Malelane, Mpumalanga, was left heartbroken after realising that her lover, John Sibiya, died in his sleep on Saturday morning.

According to 42-year-old Mkhatshwa, the couple, who met a month ago, spent Friday night drinking umqombothi at a local drinking place, and took home more traditional beer to drink before they went to bed.

Daily Sun reports that the couple got home, talked, laughed and made “beautiful love” before going to sleep. Mkhatshwa told the tabloid that though she could hear her lover breathing heavily, he told her that he would be fine.

On Saturday morning, she realised there was something wrong with Sibiya after he was unresponsive when she tried to wake him up. After calling her neighbours, the mother of four said they confirmed that Sibiya had died.

Speaking to the tabloid, Sibiya’s brother, 70-year-old Zacharia Ndlovu, reportedly said he did not suspect any foul play on Mkhatshwa’s part, as the two “loved each other”.

He suspected that his brother may have died of alcohol poisoning or heart attack.

Brigadier Leonard Hlathi reportedly told the publication that an inquest docket had been opened.
