Maimane’s maths skills questioned after he claims ’44 out of 10′ people don’t have a job
The DA leader was even compared to Zuma for his statistical blunder.

DA leader Mmusi Maimane’s alleged mathematics around unemployment have seen him subjected to the kind of mockery former president Jacob Zuma once endured for his inability to read out big numbers in parliament.
It’s possible Maimane was actually trying to say “4.4 out of 10”, though we don’t know.
Maimane was speaking while on the campaign trail in Tembisa on Tuesday about the plans of action the DA would implement should they be voted into power.
He was accompanied by the party’s premier candidate, Solly Msimanga, and caught the attention of many on social media when he boldly declared that “44 out of 10 South Africans don’t have a job”.
Take a look below.

Clearly, unemployment in South Africa may be even more out of control than we realise.
Other politicians have also been called out for shocking maths skills, with EFF deputy president Floyd Shivambu once tweeting that Eusebius McKaiser’s statistics were questionable because, if “1 095 women are killed every year in SA, it means the number is 399 675 annually. That’s ridiculously & logically FALSE because OVERALL annual murder rate in SA is approx 20 000.”

McKaiser had written that, according to the latest crime stats, 1,095 women are killed every year at the hands of their partners in South Africa.
Some believe Maimane has now joined the Zuma club, which may be a good thing since he also has presidential ambitions.
