Mahumapelo placed on precautionary leave by the ANC

Acting North West ANC secretary Susan Dantjie, who is also the speaker of the provincial legislature, said Premier Supa Mahumapelo has been placed on precautionary leave by the ANC, EWN reports.

This comes after the PEC in the North West announced today that Mahumapelo would not resign as the premier.

It is reported that Dantjie, however, has apologised for the statement made by the PEC that Muhamupelo is not going anywhere. The statement counters that of the ANC national leadership.

The speaker said in the interim, while the interministerial task team appointed by President Cyril Ramaphosa and led by Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma does its work, an acting premier would be appointed, the publication reports.
