Mabuza cares nothing for black kids, EFF alleges
The party says Mpumalanga's premier is more interested in becoming a national leader than fixing a damaged school.

In a statement on Friday, opposition party the EFF slammed the Mpumalanga education department for failing to address and renovate Davel Primary School after it was severely damaged in a storm last year.
“Parents have been forced to refuse more than 1500 pupils from attending school because Mpumalanga education is failing to prioritise the fixing of the school so the pupils can learn in a safe and conducive environment.
“It has become an inherent characteristic of the ANC governance to put the lives of poor Black people in danger. The Mpumalanga education department even has the audacity to demand that young children attend classes in buildings that are a threat to their lives and those of teachers.
“This means that the government of DD Mabuza does not care for the education of the Black child. DD Mabuza is busy lobbying to be a national ANC leader instead of ensuring that the learning condition of young people are adequately attended by his MECs. Had it been the Premier government offices that were taken by a storm, they would be renovated and functional in no time.”
The party said it wanted Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga to intervene and remove the MEC responsible from office.
Mabuza, a member of the so-called premier league, has been linked to major lobbying and power moves within the ruling party to influence the survival of the so-called Zuma faction when the ANC goes to its national elective conference at the end of the year.
