Woman injured after falling from tree trying to rescue cat

A woman has sustained serious injuries after falling from a tree while trying to rescue a cat in Warner Beach, south of Durban, on Tuesday.

According to Arrive Alive, Netcare 911 responded to a fall’s case and found that a woman fell approximately fifteen metres off a tree, landing on the asphalt below.

“When medics arrived on the scene the patient was found to have sustained serious injuries. She was treated on scene by a Netcare 911 rescue technician as well as an advanced life support paramedic,” said Arrive Alive.

“Due to the nature of the ladies injuries, a Netcare 911 helicopter ambulance was activated to airlift her to the hospital for the care she required.”

In a separate incident, a person sustained serious injuries In KwaZulu-Natal on Sunday after a car they were driving collided with a tree.

According to Arrive Alive, the KwaZulu Private Ambulance Service responded to the D246 near Nseleni for reports of a collision.

“When emergency services arrived they found that a vehicle had lost control and collided with a tree. Paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found that one person sustained serious injuries,” it said in a statement.

“The patient was treated on scene before being transported to hospital for further treatment.”
