Police spokesperson sergeant Gertrude Makhale has confirmed that the Vanderbijlpark police have launched a manhunt for a male suspect who allegedly shot and killed a woman in her room at a student resident in Rutherford CW1 yesterday afternoon, Sedibeng Ster reports.
It is reported that the suspect was seen loitering around the street right before the incident happened.

“The suspect was wearing beige clothes, a hat, he is slender built and is in his early 20s,” said Makhale.
“The Vanderbijlpark station commander Brigadier Nikiwe Hoaeane is very … concerned about the killing of [the] young woman. She has appointed the best detective to work on this case to bring the criminal to book. Police are also appealing to anyone who has information about the suspect to contact the Vanderbijlpark SAPS (016) 910-9028 and look for Warrant Officer Alberts,” she concluded.
The suspect is considered to be armed and dangerous, and the community is advised not to confront him.
