A provincial tracking team, in conjunction with detectives from Polokwane, arrested the deceased’s 42-year-old wife on Tuesday, April 3, following a sting operation in Lephalale, Bosveld Review reports.
According to police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, the sting operation on 27 March resulted in the arrest of a highly wanted suspect, also a businessman (40), who was allegedly involved in the killing of the deceased.

This, in conjunction with information received, led to the arrest of the deceased’s wife, who is believed to be the girlfriend of one of the suspects involved.
“The woman was arrested following intensive police investigations and the highly wanted suspect had already appeared in the Polokwane Magistrates’ Court on 29 March on a charge of murder and will again appear in the same court, today, 4 April,” he explained.
Two vehicles, a pistol and ten live rounds of ammunition were recovered during the operation.
Provincial commissioner Lieutenant-General Nneke Ledwaba has commended members involved in this breakthrough, and urged communities to continue providing valuable information to assist the police in this and other cases.
“Police are calling on Victor Mashakeng to avail himself at any police station, as it is believed he will be able to assist in the investigation of this case.
