In the midst of growing pressure on President Jacob Zuma to resign, opposition and his supporters squared off this morning, Sandton Chronicle reports.
Protest action ensued outside the African National Congress’ (ANC) headquarters, Luthuli House.

It has been reported that Black First Land First led a ‘Hands off Zuma’ demonstration outside the ANC headquarters in support of the embattled president.
A group of ANC members was also on scene to voice their opposition to President Zuma.
Amidst growing tensions, some members of Black First Land First were chased away and threatened by some ANC members.
Weekend reports said that ANC leadership met with President Zuma requesting him to resign, however, no official reports have emerged on the outcome of those discussions.
The protest has been condemned by the MK Council of ANC veterans.
“Whereas these avowed ‘law-abiding citizens’ have all the right to publicly express their feelings and views‚ it is an extraordinary development that people who, by their own definition and in their own admission‚ are not organisationally members of the ANC‚ can in a free society seek to interfere and meddle in the business of another organisation which they are not members of,” the council said.
