Limpopo police have launched a manhunt for three awaiting trial prisoners who escaped from the Tubatse police holding cells this morning, 19 February, police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe confirmed on Monday, Bosveld Review reports.
According to a statement issued by Ngoepe, it is alleged the prisoners escaped through the roof of the exercise room in the early hours of this morning. “The officers heard a hard knock at the cell doors and responded swiftly and on arrival they found the three men already gone.”

The circumstances behind the incident is subject to police investigations as they are still unfolding, said Ngoepe.
Police further urge anyone with information which can lead to the re-arrest of this escapees to contact Brigadier Lucas Tlhako at 082 565 7584 or Colonel Lazarus Ngele at 082 573 3645. Alternatively, they can contact the 24-hour crime stop number 0860010111, the crime line sms 32211, the Tubatse Police Station at 013 2168 500 or the nearest Police Station.
