A six-year-old boy and his teenage brother found their mother murdered and father hanging from a trapdoor in their home at Extension Two in Daveyton, Ekurhuleni, on Saturday, reports Benoni City Times.
Ekurhuleni Central Cluster spokesperson Capt Pearl van Staad said the brothers had been asleep when their father allegedly stabbed their mother to death before committing suicide.

“The couple‚ aged 49 and 46‚ [were] going through a divorce, which could’ve been the motive for the killing,” said van Staad.
Van Staad said the boys found their parents shortly after they woke up.
“The children called relatives for help who then called the police.”
A murder case and an inquest docket have been opened at the Daveyton SAPS.
