Linden Police Station has reported almost 30 incidents of house break-ins and robberies over the holiday period in Sector 3 which includes Malanshof, Fontainebleau, Moret, Randpark, Robinhills and Ruiterhof, Randburg Sun reports.
Sector 3 commander, Warrant Officer Robert Diphoko said: “The December period was not good for the sector. Crime in the area has increased on a daily basis. Last month, we placed a strong focus on house break-ins and robberies.”

The December period saw 22 incidents of house and business break-ins in the sector.
“One particular house was broken into twice in a two-week period.”
According to Diphoko, there were four house robberies in the area in December.
“What is troubling about these incidents is that these homes have fully equipped alarm systems, yet incidents continue to happen. This year we need to work hard to place a strong focus on curbing these incidents. We want these problems to be a thing of the past.”
Diphoko suggested that the most important thing that would help to stop break-ins and robberies in the sector and the wider community is stronger cooperation between the community and the police.
