An inquest docket has been opened after a police officer was found dead at a hotel in Arcadia on Tuesday morning, Pretoria East Rekord reports.
Hawks spokesperson Captain Carol Mulamu could not confirm whether the officer committed suicide.

“At this stage, we cannot confirm the reason behind his death,” she told Rekord.
“We are investigating this matter internally, and will in due course have a clear picture of what happened,” she told Rekord.
Mulamu said the officer was from the Eastern Cape, and was attending a training course in Pretoria.
