Man killed in cold blood in front of his wife at home

The woman told reaction officers that the gunman shot at him four times.


A Canelands couple’s suppertime was abruptly interrupted after an unknown stranger barged into their home, wielding a gun, firing several shots at the husband.

According to reports on the Reaction Unit South Africa social media pages, the incident unfolded on Friday evening, when the 36-year-old man was killed in cold blood in front of his wife at their home in Drift Road, Canelands, in the north of KwaZulu-Natal.

The wife allegedly reported that they were about to have supper when there was a knock on the door. The woman then went to the door and opened it, when the alleged killer pushed past her and pointed his firearm at her husband. The woman told reaction officers that the gunman then shot at him four times, before pushing past her again and fleeing in an unknown direction.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) reportedly arrived on the scene at approximately 8.40pm. The victim was then rushed to a medical facility where he succumbed to his wounds.

Reaction officers confirmed that the man sustained wounds to his head and chest and that several spent 9mm cartridges and a live round were located on the scene. They also confirmed that the motive for the killing is still unknown
