Man killed by oncoming train near Mokopane in Limpopo

The deceased’s body was found lying alongside the railway line with multiple injuries to his head and body.


Police in Mokopane, Limpopo, are investigating a case of culpable homicide following the death of an unknown man who was killed by an oncoming passenger train, Capricorn Voice reports.

According to police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, a passenger train was travelling between Mokopane and Ysterberg, about 35 km from Mokopane, on Tuesday night, when it knocked over an unknown man, killing him instantly.

“The deceased is still unknown, but investigations suggest he is middle aged. He was wearing a green cap, a coloured T-shirt and black trousers,” Ngeope explained.

He concluded by urging anyone who can assist the police in the identification of the deceased, to go to the Mokopane Police Station.
