A man was killed and another injured during what was believed to be an attempted armed robbery at a fast food outlet in the east of Pretoria on Saturday, Pretoria East Rekord reports.
The incident occurred around 20:45 at Chicken Licken in Silverwater Crossing mall.

Details were sketchy on Sunday, but according to police spokesperson Captain Colette Weilbach, it was alleged that two unknown men entered the outlet with the intention to rob it.
She said three customers arrived at the store but before they could enter, they were shot at.
“One of the customers was wounded in the upper leg,” she said.
At the same time, another customer arrived in his vehicle and the alleged robbers opened fire on him.
“It is suspected that the robbers thought it was the police arriving at the scene and fled shortly thereafter,” she said.
“Wounded in the upper body, the man sped off and managed to drive himself to the Silverton police station.
“When he entered the police station he was bleeding profusely. As he explained to officers what happened, he collapsed in the community service centre and was later declared dead on the scene,” Weilbach said.
She said cases of murder and attempted murder were opened, and that police were still investigating the allegations of an attempted robbery.
