Phetahatso Foundation, a Tsakane-based youth development organisation that empowers people with skills, has enlisted the help of a homeless man from Kempton Park, Ambrose Nkosi, Kempton Express reports.
Kempton Park resident Tebello Mosese, who founded the organisation in 2016, said when she read about Nkosi’s predicament in the Kempton Express earlier this year, she realised his set of skills could be put to good use in the work of the foundation.

“At that point, we were looking for someone with the kind of qualifications he has. When I read about him, I realised his story aligns with the objectives of our organisation.”
She said as Nkosi has done a course in business management, which is the core of what the foundation needs, his knowledge would be invaluable for the foundation.
She said she was fortunate to have run into Nkosi on Monument Road and since then the two have been talking business.
“So far, we have been impressed with Nkosi, because he is an all-rounder. Now it is only a matter of putting everything together and giving him a list of his duties.”
Mosese said Nkosi could either be a business development consultant for the foundation, or he could help with the academic guidance for the foundation’s beneficiaries.
She said Nkosi’s skills will help the foundation achieve its objectives, which are to prioritise the needs and aspirations of the underprivileged, orphaned, neglected and rejected.
“We strongly believe that development and empowerment must be about improvement of human well-being and the eradication of poverty, crime and other social ills, so that productive employment for everyone can be sustained over future generations.”
Nkosi was elated at the prospect, and said this would be a big opportunity for him to share his skills to help the foundation achieve its vision and mission.
“This is one of the offers I cannot refuse,” he said. “It is something that resonates with me.”
