Earth tremor felt across West Rand, Soweto

On Wednesday, Randfontein residents took to social media to report what felt like an earth tremor on Tuesday evening.
According to Facebook and Twitter posts, a tremor was felt at about 10.30pm in most areas of Randfontein all the way to Ruimsig, and even as far as Soweto, reports Randfontein Herald.

Nico Kahts, manager of Emergency Management Services at the West Rand District Municipality (WRDM), however, could not confirm these reports.
“We are not aware of any earth tremors occurring yesterday, and we have not received any reports of damage,” he said.
