Dagga plantation worth R250k uncovered outside Louis Trichardt
Over a thousand dagga plants were recovered and a 25-year-old suspect nabbed during an intelligence-driven operation outside Louis Trichardt on Tuesday morning.

According to a statement issued by police constable Tshifhiwa Radzilane, the suspect was living in a shack that was erected on top of a mountain that overlooked the dagga plantation, Bosveld Review reports.
“During the operation which was led by Makhado Cluster Commander Brig Eddie van der Walt, the police uprooted 1 159 dagga plants, weighing 70kg with the estimated street value of R250 000.”

The arrested suspect, which is believed to be from the North West Province, will appear in Waterval Margistrates’ Court soon on a charge of cultivation of dagga.
