The Germiston Art Theatre will be named after the slain actor Dumi Masilela, Kempton Express reports.
The announcement was made by the executive mayor of Ekurhuleni, Mzwandile Masina, at Hope Restoration Church in Chloorkop on Sunday.

The former Rhythm City actor, who lived in Van Riebeeck Park, died in hospital after he was wounded during a hijacking in Tembisa in August last year.
Masina said the church visit was part of an ongoing programme to engage religious communities for social cohesion. He brought with him various City departments to showcase their service delivery programmes.
Among the programmes the congregants were told of was the refurbishment of a new water reticulation infrastructure in Ekurhuleni to replace the ageing system.
“Churches are an integral part of our society. There must always be an opportunity for dialogue so that the society can self-correct using the values and teaching of the church,” Masina said.
Senior pastor at Hope Restoration Church Chris Mathebula said churches could not make an impact on the community without partnerships with other stakeholders such as government.
