Yesterday, a man suspected of rape and a string of criminal activities was burned to death by an angry mob, Mpumalanga News reports.
The incident happened at about 2pm at Gutshwa outside KaBokweni, Mpumalanga.
Kabokweni police have opened a case of murder.
Captain Shirley Nsimba, spokesperson for KaBokweni police, urged members of the community to refrain from mob justice.
“As much as we understand the frustrations that our communities are facing in terms of crime, but we urge them not to take the law into their own hands. The station is always available to assist,” she said.
