Passenger dies while boarding flight at OR Tambo

The customer collapsed during boarding as he entered the door of the FlySafair flight heading for Cape Town.


A passenger has died while boarding a FlySafair flight at OR Tambo International on Tuesday morning, reports Kempton Express.

In a statement released, FlySafair said the incident occurred on flight FA200 destined for Cape Town International Airport.

The customer collapsed during boarding as he entered the door of the aircraft. Paramedics were immediately called to assist but were sadly unable to revive the customer, the airline said.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with all connected to this person, and with those who witnessed this tragic event.”

Passengers were asked to disembark the aircraft. This is standard procedure when someone passes away on board an aircraft to allow for police to conduct an investigation of the scene.
