UPDATE: Sandton, Midrand power restored after mass outage in Joburg North
At least 45 Johannesburg north suburbs have been affected, and Randburg suburbs are still in the dark.

Residents across Johannesburg have posted on Twitter to alert City Power that they have no power, reports Rosebank Killarney Gazette.
City Power has posted that the power outages are due to the Mulbarton feeder which tripped. This has led to a total loss of power supply at the Mondeor substation.

NOTICE: Eskom is aware of a major power outage that affects large parts of Midrand, Sandton and several areas in the Northern suburbs of Joburg. Eskom technicians are on site to determine the cause of the outage. No estimated time of restoration at this stage. More info to follow

Twitter users flooded the City Power Twitter account, informing them they have no power. Affected areas span from Kyalami to Craighall Park. At least 45 suburbs have been affected.
The first reports came from Craighall Park.
