Black First Land First (BLF) has released a statement suggesting that load shedding has been part of a “strategy” to “hasten the selling off of Eskom to white monopoly capital” and calling on him to rehire controversial executives who have left Eskom.
The statement says Ramaphosa must “stop load shedding and bring back Brian Molefe as the chairperson of the Eskom board and Matshela Koko as its CEO”.
“These two have a proven track record in managing Eskom efficiently. They ended load shedding when they were at the helm of Eskom, the statement continues”.
“Ramaphosa must end the treasonous self-inflicted load shedding episodes. BLF is aware that load shedding is part of a strategy to hasten the selling off of Eskom to white monopoly capital. It’s part of ‘accumulation by crisis’.
“There is a known and proven solution to end load shedding. Three competent black managers ended the first episodes of loadshedding – Dr. Ben Ngubane, Brian Molefe and engineer Matshela Koko. They did it before, they can do it again.
“Load shedding is causing havoc with the lives of ordinary citizens and in particular black small businesses. BLF will write to Cyril Ramaphosa asking that he bring back Koko in the capacity of CEO and Molefe as chairperson of the Eskom board”.
