Load shedding will only be implemented when absolutely necessary.

Eskom said it was not anticipating load shedding this week due to the improvement in plant performance,  replenished diesel and water reserves over the last few days as well as the increase of imports from Mozambique’s Cahora Bassa to 850MW.

It added that the risk of load shedding, however, remained, as the system continued to be vulnerable.

“Load shedding will only be implemented when absolutely necessary.

“We continue to appeal to customers to continue to use electricity sparingly by switchin off eysers and non essential lighting and electricity appliances to assist in reducing demand,” it said.
