Lesufi said there 'is no racist that can hide behind a broomstick'.

The Citizen yesterday quoted Gauteng MEC Panyaza Lesufi as referring to the Hoërskool Overvaal as racist and saying the department intended taking the matter to the Constitutional Court to see if that court “would agree with these racists”.
This was after the court set aside the department’s instruction to the school to admit 55 English learners and become a dual-medium school.
The quote is incorrect. Lesufi actually said: “Our heart might be sore, we might be in pain, we might not agree, but one thing is for sure – there’s no racist that can hide behind a broomstick. There’s no racist that will use language to deny our children getting access to education.
“…. Let the constitutional court legalise racism. Let the constitutional court say we’re wrong in requesting our children just to study, sing and dance together. If that is unlawful, let someone come and tell us why we’re wrong.”
