The provincial ANC leadership in KwaZulu-Natal has filed a notice of intention to appeal the Pietermaritzburg High Court ruling nullifying the results of the 2015 provincial elective conference.
Earlier this month the full bench of judges of the court ruled that KZN’s elective conference – held in November 2015 – was unlawful and void. The party had 15 days to lodge an appeal against the ruling.
At the same time, the ANC’s national executive committee (NEC) is expected to meet tomorrow for an ordinary sitting. The NEC is expected to make a final decision on whether to disband the KZN provincial executive committee.
The top structure of the governing party has been getting legal advice on whether to appeal the high court ruling.
