Black First Land First (BLF) said it was “shocked” to hear the alleged open acknowledgment by EFF leader Julius Malema that he will be working with US President Donald Trump to topple President Jacob Zuma’s government.
However, we have as yet been unable to find any evidence that Malema said such a thing.
In an interview on Radio 702 on Friday morning, Eusebius McKaiser asked Malema if he thought South Africans from all walks of life would embrace him – being outspoken and controversial – as their president, and used US President Donald Trump as an example.
Malema agreed, and said “you won’t have to second-guess me as president because you know me. We need honest leadership clear on where we’re going.”
Malema further called for a state-owned bank that would “force private banks to reduce interest”.
Mngxitama further slammed Malema for the recent press conferences he held, labelling them stunts.
Malema was apparently sent by “London” to divert attention from the alleged R4.3 billion corruption at Treasury under former finance minister Pravin Gordhan.
During the press conference held at the party’s offices in Braamfontein on Thursday, Malema criticised the DA for its “arrogance” and refusal to sack Helen Zille as Western Cape premier.
He further threatened that his party would take back its votes in Tshwane and Joburg should the party fail to remove Zille.
“They must be warned. They will remain with Western Cape and we will take Tshwane and the rest.
“No party must love individuals more than the party. If they don’t suspend her as premier we will take our vote back!
“We voted to remove ANC not to sustain white supremacy and arrogance,” he said.
However, Mngxitama told people not to buy into the EFF leader’s empty threats.
“Remember Julius [Malema] saying if DA appointed [Herman] Mashaba he won’t give it his votes? Mashaba is mayor. You think DA will remove Helen Zille?
“Whites have convinced blacks to fight each other claiming to fight corruption while they keep the stolen land. Very smart I say,” he added.
