Interim Prasa board appointed

The chairperson of the interim board is Adv Tintswalo Annah Nana Makhubele.

After a three-month delay since the term of the last board expired, Cabinet has agreed with Transport Minister Joe Maswanganyi’s appointment of an interim board.

This effectively entails that the four stop-gap members will take charge of the state-owned rail agency until a new board is put in place.

The chairperson of the interim board is Adv Tintswalo Annah Nana Makhubele. In 2015, Makhubele became the first black African woman to chair a society of advocates in South Africa.

She will be joined by Dr Natalie Skeepers, Prof John Maluleke and Ms Magdelene Cheryl Reddy.

Dr Skeepers holds a PhD in engineering management from University of Johannesburg, where she also lectured part-time in transportation and logistics. She is a non-executive director of both the Rail Safety Regulator and Construction Industry Development Board.

Dr Maluleke is a transport economist who obtained a DCom in transport economics from Unisa, and was recently appointed as an honorary professor in logistics at University of Pretoria’s department of business management.
