ICYMI: Zuma was fast asleep as Gigaba delivered the mid-term budget speech
It didn't escape anyone's attention that the one person who should have been paying the utmost attention was catching up on some rest.
Zuma taking a nap while Gigaba addresses parliament yon Wednesday 25 October.
While Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba delivered his first budget speech in parliament yesterday, President Jacob Zuma was dozing off and at times fast asleep.
The mid-term budget speech took place yesterday in Cape Town. This was Gigaba’s first official budget address since becoming the head of the finance ministry six months ago.
On Twitter, people couldn’t help noticing how out of it the president seemed. He was seated in front of ANC chief whip Jackson Mthembu, who had an animated look on his face.
Comedian John Vlismas took a jibe at Zuma and came up with his own meme to sum up the situation.

The responses to Vlismas’ tweet were funny.
That’s a good look for prison.

Another comedian, Chester Missing, also weighed in on Zuma’s nap. Referring to the nuclear deal with Russia, he said Zuma “was downloading instructions from Moscow”.

Zuma wasn’t the only MP sleeping though.
