Here is Winnie Madikizela-Mandela’s official memorial programme

The late struggle stalwart Winnie Madikizela-Mandela memorial service got under way just after 11am at Orlando Stadium in Soweto.

The programme directors are former Gauteng premiers Paul Mashatile, formerly ANC Gauteng chairperson and currently ANC Treaurer-General, and Nomvula Mokonyane, currently the minister of communications.

The only two prominent politicians who will give tributes this morning are African National Congress deputy secretary general Jessie Duarte and Inkatha Freedom Party President Prince Gatsha Mangosuthu Buthelezi.

One grandchild and six great-grandchildren will pay homage to the Eastern Cape-born struggle veteran.

Roads in and around the stadium are closed while the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) are expected to kick off their own memorial service in Brandfort, Free State, where Madikizela-Mandela, as this was the place the icon was banished to in the 1970s for nearly a decade.
