A fisherman and a 60-year-old woman were attacked while on a fishing weekend getaway, reports Vaal Weekblad.
The pair were attacked at night next to a dam in Fochville in the Vaal Triangle.

According to ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring, paramedics arrived at the scene to find the man with multiple serious injuries. The woman was also injured and traumatised but survived.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet clear. Authorities on the scene are committed to undertaking further investigations.
