Aloof and cold are some ways cats are described by people who don’t see themselves as ‘cat people’. Perhaps they just haven’t met the right cat yet.

The Sandton SPCA has a host of beautiful healthy cats and kittens that will definitely change perceptions and lives.

Here are some furbabies up for adoption this week.

Archie is a young adult with lots of love to share.

Archie is described by volunteers as a confident, laid-back sucker for attention. He does almost anything for love and would make a great affectionate companion.

Pumba is a handsome and chilled adult cat.

Pumba is a newcomer at the Sandton SPCA, but the ‘cool cat’ adjusted quite well. He is happy getting attention or taking a nap. Pumba is easygoing and captivating, with a handsome face and dignified demeanour.

Delilah, Poppy, and Sheba, three beautiful female kittens ready to start a new chapter.

Delilah, Poppy, and Sheba are all female kittens around three months old looking to start their lives with a loving family. Mischievous and full of energy, these kittens will make well adjusted and loving companions once they find their furever homes.

Bing is a laid-back cat, who loves to take afternoon naps.

Meet Bing, a three-year-old tabby cat that gives ‘cool as a cucumber’ a whole new meaning. As his lolling tongue suggests, not much phases Bing, who loves to take afternoon naps in the sun. He likes gentle head scratches and chicken treats. His roommate was recently adopted, and Bing is eager to meet his new family. He is a bit older but would make a great companion.

Kitty is one of many adorable furbabies up for adoption.

This cat, aptly named Kitty, is the Sandton SPCA’s longest-in-residence feline and has watched all of her furry friends be adopted. She is curious and enjoys exploring between naps taken in a sunny spot, and would love a little garden of her own.

Cats can be adopted by contacting the Sandton SPCA on (011) 444-7730, or by visiting them at 9th Street, Marlboro Gardens, Sandton. They are open on weekdays from 8am to 4pm and Saturdays from 9am to 12.30pm. Check out their Facebook page for more information.
