Parliament’s social media sites have been hacked for the second time in a month.

While not visible on Parliament’s X or Youtube feeds, the videos were broadcast via X’s live stream option.

Parliament’s communications were notified early on Tuesday morning, and their comment will be added when received.

March hack

Parliament’s YouTube account was hacked in mid-March when “content not aligned” with government communications was uploaded to its stream.

“This breach resulted in the unauthorised upload of content not aligned with the work of the Institution,” Parliament spokesperson Moloto Mothapo stated at the time.

“While a full investigation is underway to determine the source of the breach, additional safeguards are being put in place to strengthen the integrity of our digital infrastructure,” he added.
