Speaking outside the Electoral House in Centurion on Wednesday, ANC secretary-general Ace Magshule offered up an explanation for why controversial figures Nomvula Mokonyane, Bathabile Dlamini and Malusi Gigaba were on the party’s nomination list for the upcoming national elections.
“What we have done, we have looked at what the law says. You are talking about people that have never been charged with any crime or offence. Why do you want to single out people because they’re out there in the media with allegations?” asked Magashule.
“Why do you want to deal with Nomvula, what has she done?” he added.
All three have been implicated in state capture and Gigaba had to step down as minister of home affairs following a sex scandal.
