UDM deputy leader Nqabayomzi Kwankwa echoed the sentiments of his party’s leader when, in a post-manifesto launch interview, he took a swipe at the ruling party.
Speaking to eNCA, Kwankwa said “there will be the question of corruption, obviously to say that as the UDM we are the only party that has been able to focus consistently on this issue of clean governance. We’re the only party that would never sell the country for chicken chunks, chicken gizzards and chicken hearts, like some of the people in the ANC have done.”
He went on to insist that the UDM will do their best to ensure that once the commissions of enquiry wrap up, the recommendations made by the presiding judges are implemented and those who are found guilty of wrongdoing will be brought to book.
Other areas of focus on the UDM manifesto include job creation, education and basic health care.
On the issue of Eskom, Kwankwa highlighted the need for restructuring in state-owned enterprises as a means of saving them from the crises they currently find themselves in.
During his speech at the party’s manifesto launch in Eastern Cape earlier today, the party’s leader Bantu Holomisa highlighted the various problems the country faces under the rule of an ANC government.
He touched on topics such as state capture, Eskom’s financial and management woes, load shedding and corruption.
