EFF most googled party, while Maimane the most searched politician
Google trends can offer some insight into what is gripping the interest of people using the internet.

As of 5PM, the EFF was the only political party trending in the Top 5 elections-related searches on Google, according to a statement from Google SA.
Search trends information is gleaned from data collated by Google based on what South Africans have been searching for and asking Google. Google processes more than 40,000 search queries every second. This translates to more than a billion searches per day and 1.2 trillion searches per year worldwide. In the afternoon, it was confirmed that the EFF was the most searched political party, while Mmusi Maimane was the most searched political leader for the day.
