BLF ‘congratulates’ ANC and EFF on filling up stadiums like Cassper Nyovest
The controversial BLF wants both parties judged on their commitments to land expropriation, not 'propaganda'.
Orlando Stadium packed to the rafters on Sunday for the EFF’s final election rally.
In a statement on Sunday, embattled political party Black First Land First (BLF) offered a tongue-in-cheek backhand compliment to the governing ANC and EFF for their massively supported final election rallies.
The EFF filled the stands of the Orlando Stadium in Soweto while the ANC packed Ellis Park in Johannesburg.
BLF leader Andile Mngxitama congratulated both parties and said it was a big “propaganda achievement for them”, but the BLF actually found it “amusing”.
“Both parties have pulled all stops to ensure that they are not beaten by their rivals in the game of filling up stadiums.”
He then slammed both parties for allegedly not taking land expropriation without compensation seriously, instead becoming “involved in silly competitions to fill up stadiums as if they are competing with Cassper Nyovest”.
He claimed both parties had, however, lied about their commitments to “taking back the land”.
