Both suspects were arrested at Mangweni location, Tutura village, Centane on Friday, spokesman Captain Jackson Manatha said.
They were found in possession of 15 sheep suspected to be stolen. A bakkie on which the sheep were being transported was also seized, as it was believed to have been used in the commission of crime.
The sheep were valued at about R27,000. The suspects would appear in the Centane Magistrate’s Court on Monday. “We are investigating the ownership of the stock. The [details of the] bakkie will be circulated and we will definitely find who the owner of [the] bakkie is,” Manatha said.
Butterworth policing cluster acting commander Colonel Ncedo Ngwendze congratulated the Centane police officers for their swift action in arresting the two suspects and recovering the stolen sheep.
