The offices of the Gauteng North director of public prosecutions (DPP) on Church Square in Pretoria were reportedly burgled overnight.
According to EWN, the burglars gained entry to two offices on the second floor of the DPP’s offices through windows located above the doors. It was unclear how many intruders entered the building or what was stolen.
Last week, reports emerged of a break-in at the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation’s (the Hawks’) head office in Silverton, Pretoria.
The Hawks confirmed computers were stolen during the robbery and the incident was concentrated in the support divisions such as human resources, finance and supply chains.
Acting national head of the Hawks Lieutenant General Yolisa Matakata on Wednesday condemned the burglary at the specialised unit’s headquarters in Pretoria.
Matakata condemned the incident and assured the country a team would oversee the investigation.
“Intensive investigations are under way following the break-in at certain offices of the Hawks’ head office buildings in Silverton, Pretoria,” Mulaudzi said.
“Investigators are currently working on the scene, and more information will be communicated in due course.”
Mulaudzi added no case dockets had gone missing.
The Hawks were yet to provide a statement highlighting the full extent of the robbery.
Silverton police spokesperson Captain Jan Sepato said a docket of robbery had been opened.
No arrests had been made.
