Did Bosasa ask their staff not to talk to the Zondo Commission?
A leaked internal memo containing instructions for remaining staff seems to paint a grim picture.

The company formerly known as Bosasa has issued an internal memo to their staff instructing them to note all communication with anyone claiming to be from the state capture commission before forwarding said details to management.
The internal memo, published by News24, was sent to staff by the company’s director and spokesperson, Papa Leshabane, who asked staff to contact Jackie Leyds (another one of AGO’s directors), who would then pass the details along to AGO’s senior legal counsel.
“If any staff member gets contacted by the state capture commission, please take the details of the caller (name, surname, and contact details) and immediately pass the information to Mrs Jackie Leyds… for onward transmission to our senior counsel,” reads part of the memo.
According to Leshabane, this is because senior counsel has reportedly advised AGO management that it was inappropriate for the company to comment on the recent allegations made by former Bosasa COO Angelo Agrizzi at this stage.
“The company will accordingly not for the moment respond to these allegations at the appropriate time and in the appropriate forum,” explains the memo.
Speaking to the publication, Leshabane insists that the intention of the memo was not to bar staff from cooperating with the commission but rather to provide staff with the necessary legal assistance, should they need it.
Staff have been urged to continue doing their “daily tasks in [the] usual, efficient manner”.
