Bushiri’s lawyer sues Saps for R15m, gives them 30 days to pay

A lawyer for Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) leader Shepherd Bushiri is suing SAPS for R15 million following his arrest earlier this month.

Bushiri’s lawyer, Terrance Baloyi, told to The Citizen on Thursday morning that his law firm, Ntsako Baloyi Attorneys, had sent a letter of intent to sue to the SAPS.

EFF leader Julius Malema says he will not discuss what he discussed with former president Jacob Zuma in Nkandla last month.

Addressing supporters outside the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, Malema said he had no personal or political relationship with Zuma. He said he went there to discuss matters of national importance in a three-hour, charged meeting.

NDZ extends SA’s state of disaster yet again

The government has approved the extension of the national state of disaster by one month to 15 April.

This was revealed at a media briefing on Thursday, 11 March, by acting Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni following a Cabinet meeting the day before.

Principal told to ‘leave in peace or in pieces’ after 0% matric pass rate

A Limpopo school principal is sitting at home after she was chased away from her desk by angry community members because the school recorded a zero percent pass rate in the 2020 matric exams.

School principal Mary Baloyi had to be rescued by police after the angry community told her she should either “leave in peace or in pieces”.

The Scottish FA has informed Rangers FC that the five players signed to the club who had attended a house party, in breach of Covid-19 rules have been charged by the football body.
