Woman kills boyfriend, shoots herself in Mpumalanga
The woman, who is in a critical condition, shot her boyfriend and then herself after seeing police arrive at the scene.

A 32-year-old woman who allegedly shot herself in the chest after killing her boyfriend was admitted in a critical condition to Matikwana Hospital on Sunday, reports Mpumalanga News.
She allegedly shot herself after seeing a police vehicle arriving at the scene where she had shot her 29-year-old boyfriend, Bongani Impivious Shabalala.

According to Capt Mpho Nonyana, spokesperson of Acornhoek Cluster, police found the woman holding the firearm and her boyfriend lying next to his car.
“Police were called to the scene, where they found members of the community throwing stones at a certain house and threatening to burn it. The woman was holding the firearm and her boyfriend was bleeding next to his car,” she said.
“The man’s family rushed him to Matikwana Hospital, where he was certified dead. The girlfriend was also admitted to the same hospital in a critical condition,” she added.
Malibe adds that the motive is unknown and the firearm does not have a serial number.
Police have opened a case of murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm. The suspect was expected to make her first court appearance on Monday for the charge of murder.
“She will appear in court … Even if she might be still admitted, she will appear in court in absentia,” she added.
