Officers were called to the scene at around 12.15pm, according to Lyttelton police spokesperson Captain Dave Miller, reports the Centurion Rekord.
A shootout had ensued between an unknown number of occupants in one vehicle and the driver of another vehicle.
As one suspect in the shooting attempted to flee the scene he crashed into a third vehicle, a white Volkswagen Polo Vivo.
The collision happened on the corner of Lenchen Avenue North and John Vorster Drive.
“The third vehicle, driven by an innocent bystander, then overturned,” he said.
“Luckily, no one sustained any serious injuries. We are currently investigating the circumstances that led to the shooting.”
Miller said one man had been arrested and police were searching for more shooters, who might have been involved in the incident.
