A Soshanguve woman revealed to Pretoria North Rekord on Wednesday that her boyfriend asked her how she would feel if he killed her children, shortly before killing them and himself.
Lucia Ndala’s boyfriend Tebogo Mojutu hanged her three children – one of which was his own – and himself at his home on Tuesday.
The children, Thabang, Amogelang, and Lebogang, were aged 11, three, and two.

“I said I knew he wouldn’t because he loved them,” the emotional Lucia Ndala said.
Mojutu had earlier fetched the children from her home under false pretences.
“He said the children wanted pizza so he was going to buy it for them,” Ndala recalled.
She said she called Mojutu later to ask if they were still buying pizza.
“He said they were on their way.”
Ndala said Mojutu, who is the father of her third child, called her back a short while later asking “strange” questions.
“He asked me how I would feel if I lost him and the children.”
Police spokesperson Captain Kay Makhubele confirmed the 29-year-old Mojutu fetched the children under false pretence from their mother’s home.
“He fetched the children under the guise that he was taking them to crèche and one to school.”
Makhubele said all four of them were declared dead at the scene.
Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Elias Mawela said he was “deeply touched” by the discovery of the bodies.
Three murder dockets and one inquest docket have been opened for investigation.
